Skaneateles Community Band's Concerts in the Park:
In
June and July there are community band concerts on Friday evenings. The
concerts are in the gazebo.. Some of the audience will sit in the lakeside
park to enjoy the music, while others are in their anchored boats along the
shore. The concerts are free.
The Syracuse Herald-American quoted band member and
trumpet player Gary LaPoint, from Webster, NY, who was traveling 200 miles
per week to participate in band rehearsals and concerts: "A band concert in
a gazebo in a park... a park on a beautiful lake... a lake in a small town
that Norman Rockwell couldn't have painted any better? I can't think of any
thing more perfect on a warm summer night!" So sit back in one of the most
beautiful places in the world - on the land or on a boat in the lake
flotilla and enjoy this summer's 16th season of Skaneateles Community Band's
Concerts in the Park.
